Question is from Auger Electron Spectroscopy topic in section Electron and Ion Spectrometers of Analytical Instrumentation

Correct option is (a) 1s electron

For explanation I would say: In ESCA process, the photon ejects 1s electron. For X-ray, an electron drops from the 2p orbit.
