I would like to ask this question from Properties of Polymers in division High Polymers and Plastics of Applied Chemistry

Right choice is (c) Water

For explanation I would say: The polymer absorbs the water and swells in size. Slowly polymer goes into the solution viscous polymer solution which is heterogeneous.
