My question is based upon Introduction to Turing Machines topic in portion Introduction to Turing Machines of Automata Theory

The correct answer is (b) Delete a symbol

Easiest explanation: A turing machine does the deletion by changing the tape contents from yaz to yz, where y belongs to (S U {#})*.
