Follower rests on which part of the valve-gear mechanism?

I got this question in a job interview.

I want to ask this question from IC Engine in chapter Design of IC Engine Components of Automotive Engine Design

The correct choice is (b) Cam

For explanation I would say: One end of the spring is secured to the valve stem and the other end rests on the cylinder and the follower rests cams of the valve-gear mechanism.
