Generally which valve is larger?

(a) Exhaust valve

(b) Inlet valve

(c) Exhaust port

(d) Oil port

This question was addressed to me by my college director while I was bunking the class.

My question is from Poppet Valves in chapter Valve Timing Technologies of Automotive Engine Design

Correct choice is (b) Inlet valve

Best explanation: Generally inlet valves are larger than the exhaust valves because the speed of incoming air-fuel mixture is less than the velocity of exhaust gases which leave under pressure.
