What does red blood cells contain for combining with a large volume of oxygen?

(a) Proteins

(b) Haemoglobin

(c) Lipids

(d) Platelets

I had been asked this question in an interview for job.

Question is taken from Vectorcardiography (VCG) in section Biomedical Recorders of Biomedical Instrumentation

Right option is (b) Haemoglobin

To explain I would say: The red blood cells contain haemoglobin which can combine with a large volume of oxygen so quickly that in the lungs it may become 97% saturated forming a compound called oxyhaemoglobin.
