Which of the below structure doesn’t require PSC?

(a) Bridge

(b) Arch

(c) Dam

(d) Silos

I got this question by my college director while I was bunking the class.

This intriguing question originated from RCC, PSC and Ferro-Cement in chapter Building Construction of Basic Civil Engineering

Right answer is (b) Arch

The best explanation: Arches don’t require PSC.  They are not under so much compression and loading. All other structures carry heavy loads and hence will be efficient if PSC is used.
