This question was addressed to me during an interview for a job.

My question is based upon Methods of Levelling in portion Basic Surveying of Basic Civil Engineering

The correct option is (b) Differential

For explanation I would say: In differential levelling, a number of inter-stations are located and then the instrument is shifted to each station and the elevation is observed.
