Which of the following histones shows more sequence similarity among eukaryotic species?

(a) H1

(b) H2A

(c) H2B

(d) H3

This question was posed to me during an internship interview.

My question is from The Structure Of Chromosomes in chapter Genes and Chromosomes of Biochemistry

Right option is (d) H3

The best I can explain: The H3 histones are nearly identical in amino acid sequence in all eukaryotes, as are the H4 histones.
