Which of the following is not a method of preparation of defective areas?

(a) Chipping

(b) Grinding

(c) Rolling

(d) Gouging

The question was posed to me by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

Question is from Salvaging Techniques in chapter Salvage of Defective Castings of Casting-Forming-Welding I

Correct option is (c) Rolling

The best I can explain: In salvaging techniques, when a particular part has to be welded. Before the beginning of the weld, the defective part has to be prepared for it. Chipping, grinding and gouging are a few types of doing it.
