The question was posed to me by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

The doubt is from Classification of Caissons in chapter Deep Excavations, Pile Foundations and Caisson of Construction & Building Materials

Right choice is (a) Reinforced cement concrete

The best explanation: Reinforced cement concrete has more weight and therefore it creates difficulties in handling and floating the Caisson in the early stage of construction. Therefore it becomes economical to construct a Steel Caisson with concrete filling.
