KCL is based on the fact that

(a) There is a possibility for a node to store energy.

(b) There cannot be an accumulation of charge at a node.

(c) Charge accumulation is possible at node

(d) Charge accumulation may or may not be possible.

The question was posed to me in quiz.

My enquiry is from Kirchhoff’s Laws topic in section Circuit Variables and Elements of Electric Circuits

Correct answer is (b) There cannot be an accumulation of charge at a node.

To explain I would say: Since the node is not a circuit element, any charge which enters node must leave immediately.
