If there is a 12A current source in series with 2Ω and in parallel with a 4Ω resistor, then voltage V=?

(a) 24V

(b) 48V

(c) 3V

(d) 6V

The question was asked by my college director while I was bunking the class.

My enquiry is from Source Transformations in division Techniques of Circuit Analysis of Electric Circuits

Right choice is (b) 48V

For explanation I would say: 2Ω resistor is redundant. 12*4=48V.
