What is the formula for the width over 2 limbs?

(a) width = Width of largest stamping + Diameter of the transformer

(b) width = Diameter + outer diameter of hv windings

(c) width = Diameter – outer diameter of hv windings

(d) width = outer diameter of hv windings

This question was posed to me by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

Correct option is (b) width = Diameter + outer diameter of hv windings

Best explanation: width = outer diameter of hv windings is the width over one limb.  width = Width of largest stamping + Diameter of the transformer is the formula for width of the transformer.
