Which of the following is added to steel to increase resistance to corrosion?

(a) Carbon

(b) Manganese

(c) Sulphur

(d) Copper

This question was addressed to me by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

My question is taken from Properties of Steel topic in chapter Materials, Structures and Specifications of Design of Steel Structures

Correct option is (d) Copper

Easy explanation: Addition of small quantity of copper increases resistance to corrosion. Even Chrome and Nickel are added to impart corrosion resistance property to steel.
