Why hydrogen not used excessively for welding?

(a) increases welding rate

(b) decreases welding rate

(c) destroys the metal plate

(d) affects the weld

The question was posed to me by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

The correct answer is (d) affects the weld

The explanation is: Hydrogen causes weld to crack. Hence most of the welding processes are low hydrogen welding process.
