Amplitude distortion occurs when

The question was posed to me in semester exam.

My doubt is from Equalization topic in division Baseband Demodulation and Detection of Digital Communications

The correct choice is (d) Frequency transfer function is not constant

For explanation I would say: When modulus of channel’s transfer function is not constant within W then amplitude distortion occurs.
