The question was posed to me during an online interview.

The doubt is from Smoothing Spacial Filters in section Intensity Transformations and Spatial Filtering of Digital Image Processing

Correct option is (a) Weighted average

To explain I would say: It is called weighted average since more importance(weight) is given to some pixels.
