Correct choice is (c) (1/2)*(x(t)+x(-t))

The best I can explain: Let x(t)=xe(t)+xo(t)

=>x(-t)=xe(-t)-xo(-t)

By adding the above two equations, we get

xe(t)=(1/2)*(x(t)+x(-t)).
