In Overlap add method, what is the length of the input data block?

I got this question during an online interview.

I'd like to ask this question from Linear Filtering Methods Based on DFT topic in section Discrete Fourier Transform – Properties and Applications of Digital Signal Processing

The correct choice is (b) L

The best I can explain: In this method the size of the input data block is L points and the size of the DFTs and IDFT is N=L+M-1.
