What is the formula for the height of winding?

(a) height of winding = total winding area / depth of winding

(b) height of winding = total winding area * depth of winding

(c) height of winding = total winding area + depth of winding

(d) height of winding = total winding area – depth of winding

I have been asked this question during an interview.

The correct answer is (a) height of winding = total winding area / depth of winding

The best explanation: The total winding area is first calculated. Next the depth of the winding is calculated. The ratio of both gives the height of winding.
