If one of the phases of RYB supply gets broken, then the temperature rise of the induction motor ____________

(a) remains same as before

(b) reduces as compared to the normal operating temperature

(c) reduces to temperature rise of corresponding single phase induction motor

(d) increases

The question was posed to me in exam.

I'd like to ask this question from Cooling (Loss Dissipation) topic in division Rating and Loss Dissipation of Electrical Machines

Right choice is (a) remains same as before

The explanation: The current flowing in the armature will remain same so to maintain the flux requirements of the machine.Hence the temperature rise will also remain same as the current remains same.
