For a 4 pole three phase induction motor having synchronous speed of 1500 rpm is operating at 1450rpm. The frequency of the induced emf in rotor is?

(a) 100 Hz

(b) 50 Hz

(c) 150 Hz

Correct option is (a) 100 Hz

The explanation is: The induced frequency will be f = P(Ns-Nr)/2.

                                           f = 4(1500-1450)/2 = 100 Hz.
