A single cycle appears on the screen when _______

The question was asked by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

Correct choice is (a) sweep and signal frequencies are equal

The best I can explain: Many cycles are present on the screen when the sweep frequency is lower than the signal frequency. Only a single cycle appears on the screen when the sweep and signal frequencies are equal.
