Input stage in the amplifier consists of ___________

(b) attenuator

(c) rectifier

This question was addressed to me in exam.

My question is based upon Simple Oscilloscope topic in section Oscilloscopes of Electrical Measurements

Right answer is (b) attenuator

The best I can explain: The amplifier stage of a Cathode Ray Tube essentially consists of an attenuator stage. It is followed by a FET source follower. The input impedance is very high.
