A resistor R  1 k is maintained at 17C. The rms noise voltage generated in a bandwidth of 10 kHz is

(a) 16 x 10^(-14) V

(b) 0.4 µV

(c) 4 µV

(d) 16 x 10^(-18) V

My doubt stems from Noise in portion EDC Overview of Electronic Devices & Circuits

Right answer is (b) 0.4 µV

Explanation: v^2 = 4kBTR where symbols have their usual meanings, hence v = 0.4 µV.
