Which one of the following is the second method for flow controlling?

(a) hardware

(b) peripheral

(c) software

(d) memory

This question was posed to me during an online interview.

I want to ask this question from Asynchronous Flow Control topic in division Basic Peripherals of Embedded Systems

The correct option is (c) software

To elaborate: In the first method of flow control, there is a chance of data loss. So the second method of the flow control is adopted in which it uses software to send characters XON and XOFF. XOFF can stop the data transfer and XON can restart the data transfer.
