Preliminary light load adjustment involves _________

(a) applying rated voltage across current coil

(b) making use of a light load

The question was asked by my college director while I was bunking the class.

My question is based upon Electronic Energy Meter, Adjustments in Single Phase Energy meters topic in chapter Measurement of Power and Related Parameters of Electrical Measurements

Correct answer is (c) applying rated voltage across pressure coil

Best explanation: Rated voltage is applied across the pressure coil. No current flows through the current coil. Till the disc stops rotating, light load device or equipment is adjusted continuously.
