How grassland converted into flat stubs?

(a) By over grazing

(c) By climatic changes

This question was posed to me during an interview.

My doubt is from Grassland Ecosystems in chapter Ecosystems of Energy Management

Right choice is (a) By over grazing

For explanation: When animals over graze, the grasses are converted into flat stubs with very little green matter left in the land. Degraded grasslands have fewer grass species as the nutritious species which are used by the large number of domestic animals.
