What is called for the transitional zone between the desert and the denser forests of the Western Ghats?

Correct answer is (d) Semi-Arid Areas

The best I can explain: Semi-Arid Areas are the transitional zone between the desert and the denser forests of the Western Ghats. The natural vegetation of the Semi-Arid Areas is thorn forest. Leopards, snakes, jackals and many more animals are found in this region.
