I have been asked this question by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

The question is from E and Z Nomenclature of Geometric Isomers in chapter Structure and Stereostructure of Molecules of Engineering Chemistry I

Easiest explanation: Triply bonded compounds cannot exhibit geometrical isomerism as the -C=C- bond in these molecules is linear.
