I have been asked this question by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

The question is from Vibrational Spectroscopy in chapter Absorption Spectroscopy of Engineering Chemistry I

Correct answer is (a) NO

The best I can explain: NO molecule have infrared active vibrations. Infrared spectra can identify unknown materials. It can determine the amount of components in a mixture and can also determine the quality of a sample.
