Which of the following is a meta directing group?

(a) –NHCOCH3

(b) –COOH

(c) –OH

(d) –OCH3

I had been asked this question in an interview for internship.

My question is based upon Electrophillic Substitution Reaction in chapter Reactivity of Molecules Reaction Mechanism of Engineering Chemistry I

Correct choice is (b) –COOH

To explain I would say: -COOH is a meta directing group. All the other options are ortho-para directing groups.
