Which fuel causes least pollution?

(a) Diesel

(b) Coal

(c) LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas)

(d) Hydrogen gas

The question was posed to me during a job interview.

My doubt stems from Classification of Fuel in division Fuels and Combustion of Engineering Chemistry II

The correct answer is (d) Hydrogen gas

For explanation I would say: Pollution is mainly caused by the presence of CO2 in air. Since after combustion of H2 it only gives water vapour which is less polluting.
