Which of the following is not a characteristic of a catalyst?

The correct option is (a) It participates in the reaction

To explain: The main purpose of using a catalyst is only to increase the rate of achieving the equilibrium state in case of slow reaction. Other than that it will not initiate or involve in the reaction.
