Correct choice is (a) Asbestos

Easiest explanation: Sulphuration is used in the process of manufacture of sulphuric acids. Asbestos has the capacity to renew the acid (which will convert to sulphides) from the acidified solution formed during the reaction. Thus it also promotes the rate of reaction by achieving the equilibrium state.
