In 1st angle projection the positions of front and top views are __________

(a) top view lies above the front view

(b) front view lies above the top view

(c) front view lie left side to top view

(d) top view lie left side to front view

I have been asked this question by my college professor while I was bunking the class.

Enquiry is from First Angle Projection Method in section Loci of Points & Orthographic Projections of Engineering Drawing

Correct choice is (b) front view lies above the top view

Easy explanation: As the object is in first quadrant and the front view projects on vertical plane and top view projects on horizontal plane. And for representing the projection the horizontal plane has to turn 90 degrees in clockwise direction.
