What is the name of the nut which is in form of a ring provided with slots in the curved surface for c-spanner?

(a) Ring nut

(b) Wing nut

(c) Capstan nut

(d) Flanged nut

This question was addressed to me by my school principal while I was bunking the class.

I'm obligated to ask this question of Nut and Washers in division Screw Threads & Screwed Fastening of Engineering Drawing

Right option is (a) Ring nut

Explanation: Ring nut is in form of a ring provided with slots in the curved surface for a special C-spanner. These nuts are generally used in pairs, one nut acting as a lock-nut for the other. Wing nut can be easily operated by the thumb and a finger.
