This intriguing question originated from Different Rock as Aquifers in section Groundwater of Engineering Geology

Correct answer is (a) Sandstone

For explanation I would say: Sandstones are the sedimentary rocks that show great variation in their water yielding capacity which is chiefly controlled by their texture and nature of the cementing material.
