What is the melting temperature of fused quartz?

(a) 1112^oC

(b) 1328^oC

(c) 1525^oC

(d) 1723^oC

This question was addressed to me in a job interview.

I'd like to ask this question from Types of Glasses and their Properties in chapter Glass & Elastomers of Engineering Material & Metallurgy

Right option is (d) 1723^oC

The best I can explain: Fused quartz is a glass made of chemically-pure silica. It has tremendous resistance to thermal shock and has a melting temperature of about 1723^oC. However, it has a low thermal expansion and is generally hard.
