Which of these materials is not added to iron for improving its oxidation resistance?

(a) Nickel

(b) Chromium

(c) Aluminum

(d) Silicon

This question was posed to me during an interview.

I would like to ask this question from Corrosion and Oxidation Control in portion Imperfection in Metal Crystals, Fracture, Corrosion and Oxidation of Engineering Material & Metallurgy

Correct choice is (d) Silicon

The best I can explain: Alloying elements in sufficient quantities are added to iron to improve their oxidation resistance. Nickel, chromium, and aluminum are the most common of these alloying elements.
