Which electrode is used in the process of TIG welding?

(a) Tungsten

(b) Titanium

(c) Tin

(d) Tellurium

The question was posed to me in my homework.

I'm obligated to ask this question of Welding in chapter Metallurgy of Welding, Brazing and Soldering of Engineering Material & Metallurgy

Right choice is (a) Tungsten

To explain I would say: Tungsten inert gas welding or TIG welding is a common welding process where an electric arc is produced between a non-consumable tungsten electrode and the workpiece. The electrode used in this process is tungsten. As it has a high melting point of 330oC, it will not melt during welding.
