I had been asked this question by my college director while I was bunking the class.

Correct answer is (b) 25^oC

To elaborate: The given sample of material is heated above the upper critical temperature and dropped into position in the frame of the apparatus. It is then quenched on one end at 25^oC to achieve different rates of cooling along the length of the sample.
