How many face gears are used by precision index table?

I had been asked this question in an interview for internship.

Question is taken from Rotary Tables in chapter Angular Measurement and Circular Division of Engineering Metrology

Correct option is (d) 2

Easiest explanation: Precision index table uses two face gears. Both the gears have serrated teeth. Both gears are same in diameter, shape and number of teeth. When both face gears are brought into contact root to crest, then lock together and prevent rotation.
