Question is taken from Automatic Inspection Machines in chapter Testing and Calibration of Gauges and Dynamic Measurement of Engineering Metrology

The correct option is (d) Sequence of part lifting, clamping between centres and gauge fixtures are linked on same controls

For explanation I would say: To avoid out-of-sequence mishaps, clamping between centres,  the sequence of part lifting and the gauge fixtures moving down and up, etc. are linked by a single control mechanism. All movements of the gauge structures are cam operated in each gauging station and powered by a electric motor reducer.
