If the size of an atom (≅1A) were enlarged to the tip of a sharp pin (≅10^-5), how large would the height of Mount Everest be?

(a) 10^7m

(b) 10^8m

(c) 10^10m

(d) 10^9m

This question was posed to me during an internship interview.

This is a very interesting question from Units and Measurements in portion Advanced Engineering Materials of Engineering Physics II

Correct answer is (d) 10^9m

The best I can explain: Magnification = 10^5

Apparent height of Mount Everest = Actual height × magnification = 10^4 × 10^5 = 10^9m.
