Class of carbohydrate which cannot be hydrolyzed further, is known as?

(a) Disaccharides

(b) Polysaccharides

(c) Proteoglycan

(d) Monosaccharide

This question was addressed to me in an online quiz.

My doubt is from Carbohydrate in section Biomolecules and Catalysis of Life Sciences

Right answer is (d) Monosaccharide

For explanation I would say: Monosaccharides are single polyhydroxy aldehyde or ketone unit with general formula CnH2nOn. These are simple sugars which cannot be hydrolyzed further in a simpler form.
