Why do we connect a capacitor between the Vref and the Gnd pin?

(a) to remove the leakage

(b) to ensure more current at that place

(c) to make more Vref

(d) to make Vref stable and also to increase the precision of the ADC

I have been asked this question by my school teacher while I was bunking the class.
