The instruction that unconditionally transfers the control of execution to the specified address is

(a) CALL

(b) JMP

(c) RET

(d) IRET

This question was posed to me by my college director while I was bunking the class.

The above asked question is from Instruction Set of 8086/8088 in division 8086/88 Instruction Set and Assembler Directives of Microprocessor

Right answer is (b) JMP

To explain I would say: In this the control transfers to the address specified in the instruction and flags are not affected by this instruction.
