As compared to a p-n junction device of equal rating, the Schottky diode has

(a) lower reverse voltage rating

(b) lower reverse leakage current

(c) higher Switching time

(d) higher cut-in voltage

This question was addressed to me by my college director while I was bunking the class.

My question comes from Types of Diodes-2 topic in portion Diodes of Power Electronics

Right option is (a) lower reverse voltage rating

To explain I would say: Low reverse voltage rating is the only drawback against a p-n junction diode.
